In the first blog on this blog series (does that make sense?) I shared why its so important to know the difference between a blog and a business blog.
The next blog helped you out with one of the #toughtopics - how to find topics to blog about.
Then we delved deeper into your blogging personality.
Not just problems but goals
I've written before about how important it is that blogs should address the problems that your clients, customers or readers have.
You can take this one step further by looking not just at their problems, but at their goals.
How to write blogs that guide to goals
Here's how I do it. You might find it useful. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3.
I find a topic. I think about my clients, because I know them like the back of my hand by now. So I know it's a relevant problem, question or issue for them.
Maybe it comes from a comment or question on social media, maybe it comes from a question a client asked. Maybe it's hot in the news.
I think about my clients goals for this topic. If this is their problem, what would the goal look like for them?
example problem: My clients problem is that they are stuck in a mindset that means they can't make decisions without experiencing extreme stress.
example goal: The goal is that they can manage decision making situations without experiencing extreme stress (and they symptoms that go with it).
I write all the steps I'd take them through to get them from problem to goal.
Imagine your ideal client profile sitting in front of you, and what would you coach them through to get from problem to goal.
Now I chunk it down into bite-sized morsels. The steps that I'd lead them through face-to-face to achieve their goals.
Now you've got your blog series
Each of those bite-sized morsels is a blog.
Now you just need to decide how often to post the blogs.
In these kinds of series I think it works better blogging more often than less. After all, if they're in the right place to change, then getting information to them sooner may help them achieve their goals.
You can then cluster them together in a blog 'category' and refer to them in email sequences to really make the most of them.
